Tasting notes

This is a dry and clean style rosè, very different than the picture most people get when they think of the rosès of 30 years ago. Once you taste it you’ll see this is nothing like those sweet rosès your grandma drank. Notes of ripe strawberry, lemon pith, and a touch of sour cherry in the forefront, with a nice background of aromatic rose petal and a presence of wet limestone on the finish.

Food pairing notes

The great thing about dry rosès are the ability to pair them with so many great dishes, the versatility is a game changer. It still has the bright acidity of a white wine, but has more prevalent fruit notes like a red. Grilled fish tacos with mango salsa, blue cheese flatbread with grapes and honey, or even a roasted beet salad with goat cheese and a balsamic reduction… done and done!

Somm notes

The thing that separates a good rosè from a great one is where it’s from. Llama Llama gets it’s grapes from the Sonoma Coast, a cool climate that produces some of the best pinot noir in the world, and that’s exactly what we chose to make ours with. All this careful attention to detail leads to a delicious, dry, and truly exceptional wine we’re proud of.

Side note: As stated before, most people who pass on rosè are usually thinking of white zinfandel or some other sweet blush wine, both are arguably black eyes in the world of great rosè. White zin isn’t even close to what a true rosè is. Nothing against the sweet stuff if that’s your jam, but the word needs to get out about what dry rosè really is!
